Every summer the city pays tribute to Gioachino Rossini
The Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro takes place every summer in July and August in the Rossini Theatre and other venues throughout the city as a tribute to the composer.
An important festival with music and opera, dedicated to all.
Not only theatre performances, but also meetings and workshops for younger music lovers in collaboration with Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”.
Every year the Rossini Opera Festival welcomes internationally renowned artists such as singers, musicians, actors, choreographers, directors, set designers and conductors; it is one of the most important Italian classical music festivals.
The first edition of the festival was in 1980, and it is promoted by the Pesaro Municipality. It has the authorisation of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs as a fundamental organisation for the recovery and revival of works by Gioachino Rossini, considered as being part of the Italian cultural heritage.
